    What to Expect at Competitions?
Competitions start early in the morning (usually around 8:00am) and last all day.  Teams compete in their style (jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, etc.) and age division throughout the day.  At least one week prior to the competition, the competition will send us a line up of when each team will go on the floor and perform their routine in front of the judges.  All team members need to arrive early, typically 1 hour and 30 minutes before their estimated time.  For example, if you are only in hip hop and your routine is scheduled for approximately 2:00 p.m., you would only need to come at 12:30. This gives us time to gather, warm up and practice the routine before it’s our turn to compete. Competitions can run up to an hour early or late. Family and friends coming to watch you will also want to arrive early , typically at least 30 minutes early, to ensure they don't miss your performance. Then after the dancers perform, they are free to go with their families and do as you wish (sit in the audience with their family, grab food, go to lunch, shop the booths, etc.) but we highly encourage everyone to stay and cheer for our other Dance Crew teams as much as possible and then they must be back for their next routine's meeting time or for the awards ceremony at the end of the competition.  Awards usually last about an hour for them to announce how each team placed.  It is a long day, but also a ton of fun for the dancers.  Again, we will not know the specific times until about 1 week prior, but once we do have the competition schedule it will be posted here on our website.
